Hospital History
National Hospital Nekemte is a leading private healthcare institution located in Nekemte, Oromia Regional State, Ethiopia. Established as a hospital in 2025 after 18 years of dedicated service as a higher and medium clinic, it has become a trusted provider of quality healthcare in western Oromia. The hospital has a 50-bed capacity, including comfortable private rooms, and offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services. Equipped with modern medical technology, our multidisciplinary team of specialist and subspecialist doctors provides a broad range of medical and surgical services — including emergency and critical care, internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, orthopaedics, urology, dermatology, endoscopy and colonoscopy, diagnostic imaging, advanced laboratory services, pharmacy, ambulance services, and preventive healthcare programmes.
National Hospital Nekemte operates a dedicated ambulance service to ensure rapid patient transport and pre-hospital emergency care, bringing life-saving response directly to patients across Nekemte and the surrounding communities of western Oromia.

With over 23 years of healthcare experience, he has served in senior leadership roles within government hospitals, where he played a key role in strengthening healthcare delivery and improving the quality of patient care. Today, he leads National Hospital with a commitment to clinical excellence, innovation, and compassionate, patient-centred care. Under his leadership, the hospital continues to expand its specialised services, invest in modern medical technology, and uphold the highest standards of evidence-based healthcare.
Nebiyu Milkiyas Ayele
General Manager (BSc, MPH)Nebiyu Milkiyas Ayele serves as the General Manager of National Hospital Nekemte. With more than 17 years of experience in healthcare service and healthcare management, he is committed to strengthening healthcare systems, improving operational excellence, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred services.
